This November I will be running 30 miles in 30 days in aid of Springboard. 

This year has been tough for many and with the hospitality industry being battered and bruised I wanted to help raise some money for those whose livelihoods may have been affected by Covid-19. 

I have worked in the sector for more than two decades, and it is gut-wrenching to see the hospitality industry completely devastated by the impacts of Covid-19. We need our industry to not only survive this, but to thrive. 

According to Springboard, most businesses predict that recovery will be slow and will be unlikely to return to pre-Covid levels for at least 12-18 months. Covid-19 is also causing unemployment levels to soar and young people leaving full time education who would ordinarily have embarked on a hospitality career will struggle to find work.

Whilst the Government faces the current challenge of rebuilding and protecting existing jobs, Springboard is raising much needed funds to ensure there is a skilled and engaged talent pipeline ready for when the industry needs it.
