With a new blood cancer diagnosis every 27 seconds worldwide, Cure Leukaemia funds research nurses at UK blood cancer centres, giving patients access to treatments through clinical trials. This support drives global significant advancements in blood cancer, impacting those affected by the disease.

Story

On 18th June 2015 I will take part in 'London 2 Paris: Inspiring the Revolution' and cycle the 500 kilometres from London to Paris along with 300 other cyclists. Despite the thrill of riding like a professional with friends, patients that I have treated and member of the local community, this will be a gruelling 4 days, cycling up to 80 miles a day and it will be your support that will keep me going on the hill climbs.

You might think I am crazy, but I am doing this for my brave and courageous patients. Leading the charge is former Wolves, Crystal Palace and England footballer Geoff Thomas, who has been an inspiration to both our patients and clinicians ever since I treated him for leukaemia ten years ago. Since then, Geoff has selflessly worked to increase treatment options for blood cancer patients. It is a huge privilege to be working with him to maximise curative options for patients from across the United Kingdom.

By supporting me on this inspirational journey from London 2 Paris, you're helping to inspire a revolution in blood cancer treatment.

Every £10 you donate can be used to leverage £100 worth of pioneering treatments, helping people suffering from this terrible disease and moving us ever closer to finding a cure.

Leukaemia is a cancer of the blood that usually begins in the bone marrow. It can affect anyone at any age, and Cure Leukaemia has been fighting back for more than ten years. To help with this, the University of Birmingham and Cure Leukaemia have joined forces for the 'Birmingham, Let's cure leukaemia' campaign, which aims to help the city find a cure for blood cancer in the next 30 years. With your support, we can make this a reality.

Around 12,000 people die from bood cancers in Britain each year. The prospect of survival for many adults with the disease is still less than 50%, which is exactly why your support is so vital and so valuable.

So please, dig deep today!
