Story
We are truly living in unprecedented times, with NGOs, businesses and charities across the world needing to quickly adapt to the global realities of this pandemic.
While we are not alone in our challenges, charities such as Project Luangwa, who rely so heavily on funding from tourism, have been hit the hardest. As the lodges have had to close, so too have we had to close our shop, which helps to provide crucial livelihoods to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. For ten years the costs of new materials, training and wages, have been covered by tourism, and we are making an urgent appeal to our fantastic supporters to help us now through these unparalleled circumstances.
Project Luangwa's Core Programmes include:
- Secondary Education Sponsorship for over 125 students
- University or Trade School education sponsorship for 25 of the best and brightest young adults
- Gender Support with Girls and Boys clubs, 20 Centres serving 20 young people each
- Providing washable sanitary pads and leading the way in menstrual hygiene education
- Women's Craft Workshop, teaching skills to vulnerable women
We work with our community to offer support where it is most needed. Your donation can help us so much during this current crisis, and will allow us to continue to provide employment and opportunities to our incredible team.
Thank you for your support.
