We're the world's largest seagrass conservation charity, and on a mission is to lead societal change to enable the recognition, recovery and resilience of seagrass meadows globally—meadows that provide biodiversity, sustainable livelihoods, and planetary life support.

Story

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page : )

On Sunday 25th September I'll be running Bristol's half marathon. THEN, 7 days later, I'll be putting my running shoes back on and running the Cardiff half marathon... *nervous giggle*.

I'm running on behalf of Project Seagrass, who I work for (no this isn't to fund my own wage, don't worry), a marine conservation charity focused on restoring and recovering seagrass meadows.

Why? Because seagrass really is amazing. For example, restoring seagrass meadows contributes to achieving 16 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, finding solutions to food insecurity, water quality, wellbeing and gender equality. So many reasons to want to bring this wonderful plant back to our coastlines, let alone just for the therapeutic power of snorkelling over these beautiful and biodiverse meadows. In a time when climate anxiety is heightening for many, I believe Project Seagrass provides genuine hope and action - it gives me the optimism I need to face the realities of climate change, and I hope it offers others that too :) With your help, we'll be able to continue planting our seagrass seeds and tackling the climate and biodiversity crises we face.

I'm really not a runner - so the fact that I'm doing two in two weeks is going to be a major challenge for me (tehee...). If you think that's a silly enough task for a worthy cause, and would like to donate a small amount, I'd be super grateful.

Thank you for your support! I'll let you know how it goes :S
