Story
Prostate cancer kills one man every 45 minutes - that's half a football match.I’m taking on Prostate United for Prostate Cancer UK and am running 5km every day this October. Alongside thousands of others, we’re uniting against the most common cancer in men.
This is something that has become very close to my heart recently due to my father in law being diagnosed and undergoing immediate treatment and I wanted to support in any way possible, I’ve wanted to do something for a long time as over the last 5 years several people I know have been affected in some way by Prostrate Cancer but with my father in law being diagnosed it brought it a lot closer to home, I can’t change the world but I’m sure I can raise a few quid … I also want to share the importance of getting checked, for too long it’s been a mute subject, lads, get a grip and get it done, and any ladies get onto your boyfriends and husbands and insist they get checked!!!
if it helps save one life then it’s worthwhile…Running 5km every day will be a big effort for me after many years of poor fitness levels and even poorer excuses, however I have been training and that's been going well, so no more excuses! Any friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances, anyone I have come across from years involved in football please do what you can to support. I will update daily via twitter.Sponsoring could help fund lifesaving research for men and their families affected by this disease. Thank you.
