I will complete the challenge of spending the night in an igloo in my garden to raise money for Sheffield General Cemetery Trust · 15 January 2021

The Cemetery, which opened in 1836, lay abandoned for many years until a group of committed volunteers organised themselves to care for the landscape and find out about many of the 87,000 Sheffield residents buried there. It is now a beautiful nature reserve and a cared-for resting place.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Inspired by a TV programme 'The last Igloo' my family and I constructed an igloo in the garden on Thursday. Encouraged/dared by friends I took the challenge to sleep overnight in it - then was joined by my daughter who wanted to join the adventure. At around a metre across it was compact and bijou... I had to sleep with my legs out the door. Teddies (supplied by the kids), emergency flask and 4 season sleeping bag(s) - we saw most of the night out. I have effectively saved money as I now don't need to stay in the ice hotel in Sweden. Sheffield's very own ice apartment was smashing and did the job! If you fancy sending a 'well done' donation to my charity of choice I would be very grateful :)
