Jumping in Puddles for Cancer · 4 March 2021

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

In January 2021, the wonderful Ali Bridewell was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It's still early days as we understand the full picture and it has certainly come as a huge shock for us all. Particularly with lockdown restrictions making it very hard to be there for each other in real life.

But if Ali-B has taught us anything, it's the importance of positivity, resilience, faith and community - and these things are going to be needed in abundance as we face the next few months and support her through what is expected to be some tough treatment.

We are only at the start of this journey but over the coming months, as family and friends of Ali, we are hoping to take on a range of fundraising challenges for a variety of causes. Please get involved, donate and help us bring some positivity and light to an otherwise scary and concerning situation.

We will be starting with our puddle jumping challenge! We found out about a fundraiser for Cancer Research which calls on people to jump in puddles and donate £1 for every jump! With the classic Vicar of Dibley scene in our heads, this felt like something we could get behind! It’s also Ali’s birthday on 4th Feb and she would absolutely LOVE to see pictures and videos so please share with us and we will make a montage!

So we are asking you to jump in a puddle, and donate £1 for every jump you do! Or if you don't want to get wet - just donate :)
