Awamu exists to super charge the potential of women and girls in the slums of Kampala, Uganda. We invest in them - their education, skills and healthcare. And as they rise they take their communities with them.

Story

Purple Radio is all about great music and good times shared with nice people. But just as importantly, the station has always had a long and strong history of fundraising for deserving causes; be that through 60 hour non-stop dance marathons, trekking 100kms over the South Downs, or just passing a collection bucket around at our many parties over the years.

And 2018 is no exception as this May bank holiday Purple Radio DJs and friends will cycle non-stop(ish) from London to Brighton to raise funds for our dear pals at Awamu, who work tirelessly to provide support & education to women and orphaned children in Kampala, Uganda.

It's a cause that's close to our hearts so we hope you can support the Purple Radio cycle team and the amazing work of Awamu with a donation, big or small.

Thank you from all at Purple Radio x
