Story

I've joined #TeamARUK by signing up to Running Down Dementia 2021 because I want to help Alzheimer's Research UK make breakthroughs possible. We're currently in a time where our personal wellbeing is more important than ever and by taking on this challenge, I will be raising vital funds for dementia research.

Alzheimer’s Research are helping scientists to build a detailed picture of what happens inside the brain in the disease. This is essential for improving diagnosis and developing new treatments to stop it. Only research can bring about life-changing treatments, and ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer’s.

One in three people born today will go on to develop dementia in their lifetime. This includes my Grandad who had a long battle with dementia, and sadly passed recently this year. He used his work and spare time to help others, who needed his guidance through the Scouts and providing career support to those with challenging backgrounds. I will be running and walking 800km (around 500miles) within 110 days to help raise awareness and money for Alzheimers research.

So please help me reach my fundraising target by giving whatever you can using the 'Donate' button. The more people know about Alzheimer's Research UK, the greater their impact, so please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot. Please help me run down dementia!
