Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our record attempt is being done to support the Springfield Rescue Mission because we believe their work is honest and important. The SRM aids the poor and homeless of the city with a variety of different services that couldn't possibly be summarized here - please visit their website for an survey of their programs. The summer is a time of great need for them, as they are usually left budgeting the large influx of donations made back in the previous holiday season. Donations made now are especially impactful.

We will be attempting the row from Tuesday, August 13 at 7:00 AM until 7:00 AM the next day.

The record we are attempting is the "U19 Small Team Mixed 24 Hour Record." We will switch off in short time intervals, keeping the flywheel spinning for the duration of the day. We will need to hold a split lower than a 2:06.7/500m to break the record set by the Indian River Rowing Club in Florida in 2015, although we plan on finishing the challenge whether we are on track to break the record or not.

Our attempt will take place at the Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club in Springfield, MA. Supporters are encouraged to come by! Learn more about rowing and dragon boating programs for youth and adults at www.pvriverfront.org.
