National 3 Peaks Challenge · 15 May 2022

St Catherine’s cares for patients and families who are affected by life-shortening conditions, at the hospice and in people’s own homes across Chorley, Preston and South Ribble. Our specialist care helps people enjoy the best possible quality of life to the end of life.

Story

As part of PWDR legacy action plan, a team of enthusiastic
hill walkers are tackling the National 3 Peaks Challenge on Sunday 15th & Monday 16th May.

This involves climbing the 3 highest
peaks of Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) & Wales (Snowdon) in under 24hrs. The total walking distance is 23 miles and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks over a similar total walking distance. The total driving distance is 462 miles.

We are doing this because St Catherine's provides palliative and end-of-life care and support for the people of Central Lancashire, through our specialised services at the hospice and in people’s own homes. We're here to help people facing life-shortening conditions like cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure to enjoy the best possible quality of life to the end of life. It costs more than £5m to run our charity every single year. We rely on the amazing efforts and wonderful generosity of supporters like you to help us raise the funds we need. Thank you!
