Story
We are a group of NHS workers who will be exchanging our scrubs for base layers to trek into the arctic circle.
We know that pulling a pulk behind us with all our supplies on board, for 75km in thick snow and temperatures of around -30 °C is going to be tough. But it is not as tough as being a baby, child or young adult struggling with a life changing or life limiting illness. For that reason we are donning our snow boots (rather than PPE) in the hope to raise £70,000 for charity, The Genie's Wish Charity to be precise.
The Genies Wish make "wishes" come true for babies through to young adults who have serious illnesses. That wish could be a holiday, a new ipad or a life changeing item of equipment. They also provide respite for young carers who often mis their own childhoods due to having to look after a sick family member.
This is a great cause and every £ you can spare will help make life a little easier for someone in need and it draws us ever closer to that ambitious target.
Your support and is greatly appreciated and will help motivate us as the training begins. Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
