I will be climbing Ben Nevis, UK's tallest peak, so that I can raise money for our brothers and sisters in Yemen who are in dire need of our support. 

Yemen is the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, with more than 24 million people – some 80 per cent of the population – in need of humanitarian assistance, including more than 12 million children.

With COVID-19 now spreading rapidly, Yemen is facing an emergency within an emergency. Sanitation and clean water are in short supply. Only half of health facilities are functioning, and many that remain operational lack basic equipment like masks and gloves, let alone oxygen and other essential supplies to treat the coronavirus. Many health workers are receiving no salaries or incentives, and 10.2 million children don't have access to basic healthcare.

Children continue to be killed and maimed in the conflict, while the damage and closure of schools and hospitals has disrupted access to education and health services, leaving children even more vulnerable and robbing them of their futures. 

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

"The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.” [Source: Sahih al-bukhari 5665, Sahih Muslim 2586]

We are also in the first 10 days of dhul hijjah which are the best days of the year so please donate generously

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

“No good deeds can be done at a time better than these first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.” It was said, “Not even jihad in the way of Allah?” The Prophet said, “Not even jihad in the way of Allah.” [Source: al-Mu’jam al-Kabīr 10307] 

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

“Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another but that Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah but that Allah raises his status.” [Source: Sahih Muslim 2588]
