Captain Tom 100 Challenge

On Friday 30th April 2021 Captain Sir Tom Moore would have been celebrating his 101st birthday, as well as the one-year anniversary of the extraordinary 100 laps of his garden. To celebrate his life a new challenge has been being launched by the organisers of last years 2.6 Challenge, called The Captain Tom 100 Challenge, and we need you to help us by getting involved in aid of QEF.

If baking or eating cake is not your thing, then why not come up with your own challenge... you could do 100 steps around your house, do 100 push-ups, draw 100 faces on a piece of paper...the options are endless!

You just need to donate on the Just Giving page
or set up your own fundraising page in aid of QEF, links below:

All funds raised from this event will go towards QEF's new Care & Rehabilitation Centre, under our Edward Guinness Appeal.

In July 2020 QEF opened the flagship Care and Rehabilitation (CRC) to support the NHS in the pandemic and help free up hospital beds for COVID-19 patients. Through this landmark build, QEF aims to be at the forefront of neuro rehabilitation for people with an acquired brain injury, using accessible technology to support clients and their families through what can be a very difficult journey. We are also working with the NHS to take post COVID-19 patients into the centre who have experienced a neurological event such as a stroke or seizure during their treatment in hospital and require physio and rehabilitation.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income. At a time when vulnerable members of society need them most, charities have had to cut services, furlough staff and some have even shut down. Captain Tom stepped up to help, taking on his famous walk to support the NHS Covid-19 appeal and inspiring millions to donate to the cause. I will be celebrating the extraordinary spirit of Captain Tom my way and help my chosen charity.
