Story

At QEWC we have decided to take the challenge of walking up Snowdon in the memory of our colleague and friend Wayne Phillips. Wayne loved the outdoors and being active and would often be seen scaling the local mountains, which is why we have chosen Snowdon. Wayne is sadly missed by all of the staff and young people at QEWC where he worked, to enrich the lives of others. Nightingale House supported Wayne and his family through his illness and continue to do so to this day, which is why they are the chosen charity for this walk. Any donations will be greatly received and appreciated.

About the charity

Nightingale House offers a wide range of facilities to local people and their families living with life-limiting illness. Patients come from Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire and outlying areas. In 2024 it will cost £4,900,513 million to run the Hospice - this equates to nearly £13,389 per day.
