WE MADE IT!!
Sally, Raymond and I reached Uhuru peak at 6.25am on August 21, after 7 hours of climbing by moonlight on one hour's sleep following a long hike. It was a gruelling experience which saw us not only having to make the descent, but also hike another five hours to the next camp! Absolutely exhausting but there's no question it was worth it.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for your kind and generous donations! It made all the difference to us to know that we had so much support. The donations are going to an extremely good cause and we know people living with cancer benefit greatly from the work done by Macmillan.
Thank you again!
Sally, Raymond and Sophie

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
Sally, Raymond and I are tackling the mighty Kilimanjaro this August to raise money for Macmillan. Sally is doing the climb for friends who were helped by Macmillan, and I am raising money in memory of my father. Raymond is an avid sportsman who will try anything once.
We plan to start out in Arusha, Tanzania, and will reach the summit (19,340 feet!) on August 21. The whole trek lasts a week.
We are determined. We are training hard. We are two journalists and a scientist, making our team uniquely equipped to take on this formidable challenge. Back us, and we'll make you proud. And laugh too.
