QS World Merit is a global charity that mobilises and supports young people to learn, grow and take action for a regenerative future. This month we highlight campaigns from some of our councils who you can help significantly to make a difference

Story

QS World Merit supports young people to learn, grow and take action for a regenerative future. This December we are highlighting and raising funds for our councils who are setting up tangible and meaningful projects in their local community.

QS World Merit Congo is giving a t-shirt, a meal and a school kit to an orphan in the Democratic Republic of Congo through the Hebron Home Orphanage.

“The situation is bad and they need help. They have bad living conditions and need food, clothes and many resources to have access to a good education or schools.” - President of QS WM Congo

There are 41 children and the council has a goal to raise £1000 for their giving activity to support every single child.

  • Distributed in Lubumbashi,  DRC to Hebron Home Orphanage.

  • Impacting United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #1, No Poverty, #2 No Hunger and #4 Quality Education.

80% of your donation goes straight to the council's project and pays for tangible resources to hand out. No funds go to the council members as salary, they are doing this voluntarily. 20% of your donation goes to the QS WM Charity to grow our work of supporting changemakers on the ground. We operate with the 80/20 principle where we are here to provide a framework to support our community members with opportunities, mentorship and resources to learn, grow and take action. The Charity is currently operating with a small team of 3 part-time employees supported by a team of volunteers.
