ANNE BOLEYN: A KING’S OBSESSION
Fresh from the sophisticated palaces of Burgundy and France, Anne draws attention at the English court, embracing the play of courtly love. But when the King commands, nothing is ever a game. She has a spirit worthy of a crown – and a crown is what she seeks. And so she embarks on her perilous course, which will plunge a kingdom into turmoil. Alison Weir weaves new research and theories into the dark, powerful tale of Henry VIII’s second wife - a woman ahead of her time, who dared to question traditional concepts of femininity, and whose ambition drove her to gamble with the fickle nature of a dangerous king.

Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) is a growing community of patients, families, researchers and healthcare professionals striving to find a cure for pulmonary fibrosis so that everyone affected by the disease has a better future. They provide personalised support to patient and families - and raise awareness of pulmonary fibrosis through campaigning, fundraising and education. They are also committed to funding research to improve the quality of life for people living with pulmonary fibrosis today and tomorrow.
Watching mum deterioriate suffering from Pulmonary Fibrosis, distressed and anxious being unable to breathe has left us scarred for life. Wearing a nasal cannula or mask connected to oxygen cylinders 24 hours a day even in bed, her body could not get the oxygen it needed due to scarring in her lungs. A few times she collapsed due to lack of oxygen which was very frightening and the noise mum made still haunts us to this day.
Mum passed away from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (no known cause) at just 66 two years this August. There are thousands of people incredibly frightened every day, people who have Pulmonary Fibrosis but also their carers, families and friends. We don't want anyone else to go through this traumatic experience, feeling totally helpless. There is no cure, only 2 drugs may slow progression but not available to all. Lung transplant is unsuitable for many. As scarring progresses it becomes harder to eat, drink, move, talk, breathe and essential to be connected to oxygen all of the time even in bed which means you become housebound and eventually bed bound.
We would really appreciate your support, thank you for reading
