Story
Unfortunately it's true when they say everyone knows someone with Cancer and you always think it wont happen to you, but it can.
The current stat is that one in every 2 people will develop a form of cancer in their life time...
Over 100,000 people die of the disease a year...
The current survival rate sits at 50%...
The least we can do is help those affected live life as fully as possible.
Unfortunately in the summer of 2018, Grace's mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, this of course like for anyone receiving this diagnosis came as a shock for the family. Not one to sit around helplessly Grace wanted to do anything she could to help, so she started racking her brain for ideas of a charity event that could raise large amounts of money for this worthy cause. It wasn't until Phil said 'isn't there a place in France called Brest, maybe you could walk there and raise money for Breast Cancer' that an idea took route.
Grace assembled a team made up of her other half Phil (after all it was his idea) and contacted her long time friend Rachael, who needed no encouragement to go and do something a bit crazy, she brought along Dean (no persuasion necessary) and the team for 'Quest for Brest' was born...the rest shall we say is history.
So this summer the team will set out to walk from Brest on the North West coast of France to Halifax in West Yorkshire, a grand total of around 500 miles. Unsupported they will be carrying all their gear on their backs and camping on route. A challenge that will no doubt test them to their mental and physical limits, the team hope to raise as much money as possible in the process.
