Hello one and all, we at FC Not Alone like many of you out there are missing football and everything we once took for granted. Equally given the circumstances, it is seeming like we will not be able to have a F.C. Not Alone tournament this year for our good friends at CALM (The Campaign Against Living Miserably).

That’s why on Friday 1st May we will be holding the first #Quiz4CALM on Zoom, hosted by us and with appearances and questions from CALM ambassadors and friends of FC Not Alone.

All we ask in return, is a donation to CALM, who as we know, provide invaluable services to men in need across the country on a daily basis.  For those who have not seen their work yet,  The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK and the cause of 18 deaths every day.

CALM run a free and confidential helpline and webchat – 7 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone who needs to talk about life’s problems. We support those bereaved by suicide, through the Support
After Suicide Partnership (SASP)
. CALM also offer vital support to Communities and hold many impactful campaigns to spread awareness of suicide and its devastating impact with campaigns like #Project84, #DontBottleItUp and The Best Man Project.

Given the current times that we live in, CALM more than ever would value the money that you, as F.C. Not Alone fans could donate. CALM have seen a 37% rise in calls in the first week of lockdown, to be expected given the difficulties that lockdown and the current national situation have brought. Despite that, many public events, key for CALM’s fundraising effort, have been cancelled. That’s why we hope you can help CALM out, like they help many of us out in Britain on a daily basis.

We recognise this is a time full of financial insecurity for many. However, the cost to CALM to receive a potentially life-saving call is £8 (more or less the cost of a pint for you & a mate). We are asking for a £5 entry fee for our quiz, but as ever any further donations in this time will be vastly appreciated by CALM and by us.

Best wishes, Ian & Matt and FC Not Alone.
