Story

My husband Chris was diagnosed with bowel cancer in Jan 2017. He received chemotherapy, radiotherapy and had an operation to remove the tumour.  Chris was so strong and remained positive at all times. Chris enjoyed the outdoors especially walking.  We even walked up Ben Nevis when Chris was still undergoing treatment, nothing fazed him.  In July 2018  he was further diagnosed with a brain tumour.  He had brain surgery  on the Friday and he was back at home on the Monday. What a Super Star!  Unfortunately the cancer came back within a couple of months.

Sadly Chris passed away surrounded by his family on the 19th December 2018 after spending his last 19 days in the Hospice.

Throughout the two years, of what seemed like torture, Chris always had a smile on his face and he fought and hoped that this nasty disease wouldn't beat him, but cancer does not discriminate.  He was my "SUPERMAN"

In Chris` memory I am walking up Scarfell Pike with our family and friends on Saturday 20th April 2019 to raise as much money as possible for East Lancs Hospice. The staff were exceptional and cared not only for Chris but for his family too.
