Story
I am cycling around Ayr (70 miles, 1,500m
climbing) to try to raise some money to support the restoration of Llansannan
scout hut. It’s a fantastic community asset that supports children from
Liverpool build community links in Wales.
Crosby scouts have owned the scout activity
centre for the past 48 years. Throughout the Crosby area many children, parents
and grandparents have used the building at some point throughout this time and
have really enjoyed the experience. The building has started to fall into
disrepair and we want to restore it so that it continues to be available for
use. This will cost an estimated £40k
The core aims of the Llansannan restoration
project are to continue to
- Strengthen our links with the Welsh community –
offering them employment opportunities throughout the restoration project - Be an available resource for Chernobyl
children’s project - Welcome Crosby and other scout groups for
adventurous activity breaks - Promote use of the building for scout and non
scout families - Provide sustainability of the building into the
future
Your support is greatly appreciated.
