RAAM in aid of St John Ambulance GLOUCESTER CADETS · 13 March 2009
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page!
Unfortunatly, Ann has not made the cut off point to make it as an official RAAM finisher , but she still managed a collossal 2,900 miles... Agreeably, huge amount!
You can still donate untill 27th September, so please donate, to help along with our aim of £100.
Thanks!
Gloucester City Cycling Club rider, Ann Wooldridge, shall be racing in what is considered as 'The World's Hardest Endurance Event',
Named the 'Race Across America'. - - it is exactly that - a bike race right across the width of America.
The route is over 3000 miles, crossing 14 states and climbing over 108,000 feet (More than 3 times the height of Mt Everest!)
Solo racers, like Ann, finish in anything between 8 to 12 days,
averaging 250 to 350 miles per day!
As well as this mammoth task, the racers have the unbearable
challenge of balancing just a few hours of sleep each night against race
deadlines.
During this amazing race, we are looking to raise money for St. John Ambulance Cadets in Gloucester.
