Child Protection and Rehabilitation Trust (CPRT)

Young children in Pakistan are forced out of their homes and schools to work in abusive, dangerous and unhealthy environments by parents and relatives suffering from severe poverty. These children can be as young as three years old, have the same dreams and aspirations as other privileged children and are stuck in unfortunate circumstances. Most of them are very bright, intelligent and passionate to educate themselves so they can sustain their families and give something back to the society.
A group of UK based doctors set up a charity called 'Child Protection and Rehabilitation Trust' (CPRT) not long ago the aim of which is to identify such children and give them a real taste of what life should be like for a 'normal' child. The program workers go through a structured process- they first identify these children from garbage dumps and streets, then find their parents/ guardians explaining to them purpose of this program, and finally get the consent to officially make them part of CPRT. The children then have daily visits to an educational centre, have fun games and activities and lessons on reshaping themselves. They are taken out to restaurants, parks, museums and taught not only how to mingle with society but also taste life in a positive way like other children. CPRT teaches them respect, teamwork, honesty, communication, cleanliness as well as languages & sciences while they have fun.
Over the years CPRT children have transformed, some are speaking fluent English while others are high achievers at school. They spend their time constructively in education instead of at garbage dumps and with astray friends.
Since its launch CPRT has had major impact on improving the lives of many children across Pakistan. In order for them to continue their good work they now need your help and support. A standard CPRT centre costs about £800 per month to run and there are currently over 10 functional centres across Pakistan.
Please donate generously to this amazing cause- it's about disadvantaged children with great potential who just need a push to shine through.
