We work with displaced people overseas to help them rebuild sustainable lives

Story

We'll be on the India's Cup rally from Chennai, India's 'motor city' on the eastern coast all the way to Goa, the region's party capital on its western shores.

We will be driving classic Hindustan taxis, declared the best taxi in the world by Richard Hammond, and travelling 2389 km (1484 miles).

We will have lots of fundraising events which we will keep you in touch with. Meanwhile, please donate what you can. All donations go to the International Refugee Trust and specifically its StepUp project in Uganda which changes lives for good.

A transformational, life-changing programme, Stepup has worked successfully for some 2,000 households (each household being, on average 2 adults and 5 children), in the Lira region of northern Uganda.

The charity's plan is now to expand it to the West Nile region (also terribly poverty-stricken). They see it as ‘the end of charity’, in that, rather than giving endless handouts, which disappear into a black hole, StepUp aims to achieve a level of self-sustainability, allowing families to stand on their own two feet. It also lends itself to sponsors getting a real feeling of partnership, as they see communities, grow out of poverty.
