Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are Mortimer Spinks and we are on another mission! As an organisation, we feel strongly about CSR and giving back to our local communities. This year we are partnering with our parent company Harvey Nash.

Since the beginning of 2013, Mortimer Spinks have taken part in several fundraising events and have raised thousands for worthy causes.

Giving Back

In 2013 we took part in ‘The National 3-Peaks Challenge’ to raise money for one of our London HQ neighbours (practically waving from our window to the heli-pad!) ‘London’s Air Ambulance'.

In 2015 we went tough! Taking part in the 'London Tough Mudder Challenge' and raised over £1000 for Special Effect, a charity very close to our technology background.

In 2017 we face our hardest task to date the Race the Sun Challenge!

What is the Race the Sun Challenge?

Race the Sun is a hugely popular event, set in the stunning Lake District we are tasked with; Canoeing from Windermere to Ambleside (7.33 km) then mountain biking to Great Langdale (15.7 km) before finally hiking up Scafell Pike (the highest summit in England).

If this didn't sound challenging enough we will be racing the sun! Starting at sunrise and finishing as the sun sets that night.

So why are we putting ourselves through this? Apart from being a crazy bunch! We feel passionately about CSR and giving back. This year, we are raising money for School of Hard Knocks.

Who are School of Hard Knocks.

Founded in 2012 by Ken Cowen, School of Hard Knocks use sport to tackle the issues surrounding unemployment, crime and health. They work with individuals to help them take responsibility and take positive steps forward in their lives.

SoHK offers a number of different programmes, each tailored to its audience and principal aims. The constant factor is their methodology – controlled confrontation, challenging activities and a constant affirmation of self-worth and motivation.

SoHK help people:
Grow in confidence.
Take personal responsibility for their lives and actions.
Experience the value of team work and diversity.
Learn the value of respect: both of others and of themselves.
Realise their own potential.
Reengage with employment or education.
