We are two students from Durham University who are planning to walk this 100 km ultra marathon in June 2021 to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK. One million people in the UK will have Dementia by 2025. This will increase to two million by 2050 and yet there is still no cure. 

Most of us know someone with Dementia and know the huge impact it can have on the livelihood of people and their loved ones. This impact has been even greater during the Covid-19 pandemic. 1/4 of people who have died of Covid-19 also had Dementia and it can be a really lonely and confusing time for everyone affected. 

Alzheimer's Research UK do an incredible job at working towards a cure for this disease and we would love to help them reach this goal.
