The mission of Nelson’s Journey is to increase the self-esteem, self-belief and wellbeing of bereaved children in Norfolk, by enabling families and wider society to talk openly about death and bereavement, and for children to express and understand emotions.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Myself and two friends, Duncan and Kevin from Costessey are 'Walking Norfolk' in memory of my beautiful, courageous wife Rachel, who passed away in April from a rare and incurable cancer which came into and took over our lives over a period of only four months. Rachel was the world to me and my two boys, Zach (14) and George (10). We miss her hugely but we promised her that we would face the future with bravery and live our lives to the full.

So here we are... giving something back to a very important charity - Nelson's Journey, supporting children who have lost a significant person in their lives - something which both Zach and George will benefit from.

Please check out their website to find out more - they are a small, local charity so every donation is vital.

The plan... to walk 91 miles in 4 days starting on Friday 23rd October 2020.

We will be starting in Knettishall near Thetford and following the Peddars Way to Holme-next-the-Sea, then turning right when we meet the North Sea and taking the North Norfolk Coastal Path through to Cromer - a place which is very special to Rachel and our family.

So please give generously. We'll do it! Even if we're crawling over the line at the end. Hoping to smash our target too!

A huge thank you to all of you for your support and encouragement with this. Big love.
