I am running the 2022 London Marathon for The British Heart Foundation in memory of our friend Alex Weston who we lost suddenly in July of last year aged just 40. Alex was taken far too young from his incredible wife (who is my dear friend) and his three wonderful sons – who all mean so much to me and my family.
My memories of Alex are of him always smiling, being so friendly and helpful to everyone he met and being a wonderful husband and father. He had a great sense of humour and was just brilliant to be around. As a family we got to spend a day with Alex and his family at Alton Towers just a few weeks before the unthinkable happened. I treasure the memory of this day we spent together and often think back to that day and smile.
I want to raise as much money as I can for this incredible charity to help fund lifesaving research and support those who need the charities help the most. I know that the BHF were such a support to Alex’s family last year.
This is the second marathon I will have run and some people have asked me if I want to beat my time – my sole objective for this marathon is to raise as much money as I can in memory of Alex – that’s it. I would be so grateful for your support and any donation you can make – thank you so much x
