Last year, in a moment of sheer madness, I entered myself into the ballot for the 2022 TCS London Marathon. You wouldn't believe the trouble I can manage to get myself in, in the time it takes a kettle to boil...

When the results were released, I received my rejection email. Honestly, I was over the moon. I mean, you have to be a whole other level of bonkers to want to run that far right? Fast forward 30 minutes and I actually started to feel rejected and was slightly disappointed that I wouldn't get the ultimate piece of running bling. Then, before I knew it (and in less time than it took for the kettle to boil)...I'd paid the entry fee to run the virtual marathon instead!

This means that on 2nd October 2022, I will be running the marathon (that's 42.2 km or 26.2 miles in old money) taking in the beautiful sights of the Wirral, rather than London (and hopefully it will be less peopley...we all know I'm not a fan of them).

If I'm going to throw myself completely out of my comfort zone then I might as well do it for a good cause right?

Theo's story captured my heart a couple of years ago and that gorgeous smile of his well and truly stole it!

Theo is now 4, and comes from West Kirby on the Wirral. Theo survived a severe brain injury at birth and suffered numerous seizures following the cooling treatment which failed. 

Theo was starved of oxygen needing over seven minutes resuscitation and suffered a severe brain injury resulting in quadriplegic cerebral palsy. I want to help Theo reach his full potential and have an amazing quality of life by raising funds for life changing stem cell treatment and specialised equipment outside of the NHS, including intensive hyperbaric oxygen treatment.

Theo is the biggest little fighter ever, with every little thing he does being a challenge. He has the biggest smile and is the happiest little boy who deserves a chance of the life he was once robbed of. There are numerous therapies and pioneering treatments available, but they are not accessible on the NHS and the expense is very high. Not only will Theo need this treatment, he will also need specialist equipment. This is why Theo's parents and family launched 'Theo's Fight' Campaign.

Isn't that what we all want for our children, to give them the life they deserve? For children like Theo, that comes with a huge price tag. This is why I'm asking you to dig into your pocket (and your heart) and support me to help give Theo the life he truly deserves.
