1/1/17 New Years Day Dook- Broughty Ferry

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Myself, Darren, DARCEY, my sister Karyn and brother Gavin are all taking part in the New Years Day Dook in Broughty Ferry....lets hope it's not snowing!! ( One year they actually had to break the ice for everyone to get in.... brrrr!!!)
Our wonderful friends eldest son, Jack, was diagnosed with Krabbe leukodystrophy, a genetic condition, 6 months after he was born. Melanie and Scott knew nothing of this life limiting disease before Jacks birth. Within weeks of his diagnosis Jack lost all of his skills and was unable to move, could no longer feed, had poor vision and he could no longer smile. Jack was a fighter though, and he lived until he was 21 months.
Since then, Scott and Mel have worked tirelessly with - Save Babies Through Screening Foundation UK to improve and save the lives of children by working to prevent disabilities or early death resulting from treatable diseases that are detectable through newborn screening. They are working to promote the extension of the newborn screening programme in the United Kingdom for all treatable inherited metabolic disorders.
This could have been YOUR baby, YOUR friends baby, YOUR family member... please donate whatever amount you can as it WILL ALL HELP with research and it may help change current procedures...
Thank you!!! X
