Story
I have always been quite a keen runner but only starting training for 10k's and half marathons about a year ago. Taking part in a full marathon has always been a big no no, with initial views being that this was only for crazy people who had hours and hours of free time to train. I am now going to (hopefully) be one of those crazy people, who has set myself the challenge of running Bournemouth full marathon in October. As this will by no means be an easy task I have decided that being passionate about animals I would like to raise money for a shelter, a small, local shelter though where the amount of money that I do raise is really needed. After doing some research I came across Pine Ridge, founded by the late Bernard Cuff in 1958 based in Ascot. The work they do is fantastic .... rescuing, nursing back to health then rehoming stray, abandoned, unwanted dogs. I went to meet Connie Cuff who continue's to run the shelter and we chatted about Pine Ridge and my plans to help!! This sealed the deal in my eyes and will be sure to spur me on those 20 odd miles, to know that every penny I raise will go straight to looking after the dogs, finding them that perfect, loving home. Any help from you guys would be very much appreciated. :).
