Dear Friends,
I'm running the Race For Life this June, as I have done every year since Lynton Shackleton Prior (aka Dad) was dragged rather painfully and slowly by small cell cancer from his utterly joy filled life in 2008.
I missed one year, when my leg got a bit shattered from being hit by a car (see photos). Last year, for the first time, my daughter Ruby (age 9) joined me and put my time to shame. She's going to do that again this year, even more substantially.
I'm asking kindly, and gently, if you have a few pounds or dollars to spare, to please consider sponsoring our efforts. If you do not have any to spare, please do not, because times are tough, and Lynton Shackleton Prior would not want to see you without a decent meal in your stomach or a pint of bitter on your table.
If you can't spare, please consider at least sending this link with some of your more financially fortunate friends.
Race for life's colours are pink. This is very troubling for both Ruby and I, who, although looking fabulous in it, are both very much in our tween goth phase. So, for that effort alone, and the promise of pictorial evidence of our knackered pink faces, please sponsor us.
Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.
Don't forget to add Gift Aid
If you're a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no extra cost to you.
