Skip 80 miles in Advent · 9 November 2020

Homelessness is so much more than sleeping on the street or a park bench. This year, our appeal will raise money for all those individuals and families we support without a permanent 'forever' home across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

Story

I'm raising money for Caritas Salford this Advent to support people experiencing homelessness.  Money raised will fund the 1:1 support and advice that will help individuals and families into their 'forever home.'  Please sponsor me to skip 80 miles during Advent!

A short film made for the appeal features Nikki, Rochelle and Quinton (pictured) telling their unique stories of homelessness. Thanks to the love and support from Caritas support workers and volunteers, they've transformed their lives and are looking forward with hope to a brighter future.  The campaign uses the hashtag #MiracleOfKindness  - a direct reference to Pope Francis' recent encyclical, Fratelli Tutti, in which the Holy Father calls for kindness to be recovered because it is a star shining in the darkness.
