Run Bournemouth Half Marathon 2022 · 9 October 2022 ·

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

On October 9th, Bryce and I will be taking on our very first half marathon in Bournemouth to raise money for Headway.

Headway is a brain injury charity whose mission is to promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and provide support to survivors, their families and carers.

Headway Essex have been and continue to be a massive support to my uncle and his family over the past few years as he recovers from a brain tumour. Not only has Headway Essex allowed him to meet others in similar situations, but they've also helped him get moving again through fitness, cooking, and walking classes, and given him the motivation and encouragement to keep going.

Running 21k will be a huge achievement for us both - any donation no matter how small would be hugely appreciated, thanks to anyone able to contribute!
