Any of you that know me (or even vaguely know me) will know that me and exercise rarely mix! The last sponsored event I did was at school - asking for sponsorship is something that would usually make me cringe! Thank you for reading this and I hope it helps to make you understand why I am really hoping to raise lots of money doing something that I wouldn't normally enjoy!

The reason I am doing the 10.5 mile Midnight Walk in aid of Katharine House Hospice is a simple one. My dad, and the amazing and unfailing care that he received in the last few precious weeks of his life within the walls of that truly wonderful place.

Katharine House looked after dad wonderfully, provided a haven for us as a family and made the most devastating time in my life, not only bearable but a special time. I will treasure the memories that Katharine House allowed forever. The staff are wonderful, compassionate and provide a service that as a community we could not do without. Hospices are mainly funded by people like you and me. Unlike hospitals they rely heavily on donations for the day to day running costs, something I don't think I ever really realised. At a time when we are all watching what we spend it is vital that we don't forget places like Katharine House. Please try to spare a few pounds to support me in raising money for this worthwhile cause.

Oh and if you think 10.5 miles isn't very far then I promise you it is a challenge for me - especially around the streets of Banbury!!!! ......
