Last Year with the help of all my friends and family I raised almost £3500 by running the Great Manchester 10K.  Thank you to each and everyone of you who donated.   I was new to running and the support really spurred me on. Unfortunately,   I had to run the race “virtually” due  to Covid which meant running alone on the roads and around town local to home.   This year,  I will run in my first ever race for real!   I am extremely nervous particularly as I have spent the summer in the extreme desert heat of the Middle East making it impossible to run outside.  My Training has been sporadic with little running and more rowing and swimming.  I’ll be back in the U.K. just short of two weeks before the race,  so not long to get out there and run.  Hopefully,  I will have done enough to get me round the course in my planned time of 60 minutes! 

I am looking for your support once again for this worthy charity.  Having been diagnosed with Breast Cancer in Feb 2018, I went through several surgeries, chemo & radiotherapy and am on medication for 10 years with one major surgery to go!   Hopefully this will happen later this year.  

 Having been through all this I see just how important it is to try to Prevent Breast Cancer . Diagnosis and treatment are both gruelling and the effects last years both physically and mentally. 

I'll be taking on the Great Manchester Run for Prevent Breast Cancer. The only charity in the UK dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer. Unlike many cancer charities, they focus on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, they believe we can stop the problem before it starts. Every year, in the UK, over 55,000 individuals are diagnosed 150 people a day. And every year, we lose 11,500 to this disease. That is 11,500 too many. In fact, it is 55,000 too many. With your support we can help fight this disease together.
