In 2020 someone very close to me lost her first son Bobby in March and her second son Oliver in September. Two perfect babies whose lives were cut painfully short due to rare conditions. You never think it will happen to someone you know. 

The death of Bobby and Oliver has completely changed the way my friend and I look at pregnancy and the idea that everything will go swimmingly with little to no complications. Unfortunately we now know this is not the case for some families and SANDs help to bring some comfort to the families that find themselves in this unfathomable situation.
