I lost both my parents to Alzheimer’s and have many friends and family who have been affected by this illness. Beth, Zoe and I are doing this in memory of Roland, Chris, Brian and all those battling this horrible disease. Dementia robs you of your loved ones - whilst physically they may be there, they stop being the person you know and eventually they no longer know you. There are currently an estimated 850,000 with dementia in the UK. This figure is predicted to reach 1.6 million people in 2040. By then I'll be 71, and it'd be really great if there could be a cure.
