I will be running a half marathon (bloody hell) to fundraise money for CALM. Its a charity close to my heart after loosing to two good friends over the past few years. Calm is a national charity dedicated to preventing male suicide in the UK.
I lost my flat mate during my first year at university. I remember the first day I moved into halls and he strutted into the kitchen with his 'Yarssss darling'. He was everything I wanted London to be at the time and I loved it. He took his own life only a few days after his 21st birthday.
A few months ago mental health took a second person in my life. In October just gone a good friend and colleague of mine passed away. It shook us all and work will never be the same. I wont walk into the shop to an "alright darlin" and a big hug no more or jump out my skin when he used to sneak round the shop on his break and bang on the window.
Suicide is the single biggest killer of men aged under 45. In 2015 75% of all suicides were male therefore I am determined to help and raise money to help stop the many lives which are lost.
This is for my friends and all the men out there x
The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. Our goal is a life less miserable for you, your friends, your family and for all men.
