100 Miles in May · 31 May 2020

This year at Northern Ireland Children's Hospice we cared for over 370 children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, in both our inpatient unit - Horizon House and in the local community. We rely on your generous donations to continue to fund our vital services.

Story

I've seen first hand the amazing job the teams at the Hospice do every day to support those in our communities who are are going through the most challenging of times.  These services receive limited Government funding, and rely heavily on donations from the public to close their £11m a year funding gap.

Many of the big annual fundraising events that they rely on to deliver the bulk of this deficit are not taking place this year due to Covid-19, leaving an even bigger gap in their fundraising efforts.

The only service of its kind in NI, Children's Hospice cares for over 370 babies, children and young people each year at it's dedicated Children's in-patient unit - Horizon House and in our local communities through their Specialist Community Nursing Team. Their work also extends to families, supporting them from the point of diagnosis right through to the grieving period after bereavement.

The adult Hospice provides support to over 4,000 people both at their site on the Somerton Road, and out in our community, for conditions including cancer, Motor Neurone Disease, MS, COPD and dementia.

As a family, we want to play our own small part to help these amazing charities  continue their fantastic work during what is a hugely challenging time.

Every penny will help make a difference.

Thanks so much for your support

Mollie (5), Sophie (7) John and Rachel xx
