Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Thank-you for considering sponsoring us for Women in Cancer Ride the Night. This is a 100km ride through the centre of London quite something for us 'non sporty 'types. We are doing it in memory of our fantastic Mum, Thelma Beale who passed away from ovarian and breast Cancer, at the age of 60. We are riding on May the 26th which would have been Mum’s 76th Birthday. Our Nana and two of our great aunts had Breast cancer and Debbie has had treatment for both breast and thyroid cancer.

Whilst there has been significant advances there is still much to do; in finding more effective and tolerable treatments, in the field of genetics (we do not have the BRACA gene) and effective screening for ovarian cancer.

We will be tortoises rather than the hares however as they say on Strictly it is “all about the journey”

Once again thank you for your support
