London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·
Simon and I have managed to secure places in this year's London marathon, we will be running for the Barnardo's charity with all money raised going to the Sycamore Resource Centre in Banbury.
The centre is a residential short break centre for children between the ages of 5 and 18, with severe, profound or multiple learning and/or physical disabilities. The aim of the centre is to help to maintain children in their own homes, and their immediate community.
I am very proud to work at the centre which provides an essential service to over 30 local families. The money raised will go towards purchasing items on the centres wish list such as sensory and outdoor play equipment.
We are aiming to raise £750, it would be amazing if you could make a donation, any money raised will have a real positive impact for the children who use the service.
I know we have ran many marathons before but the children I support inspire me so much, I just wanted to try and give them something in return by making the time they spend away from their families as enjoyable as possible.
We are currently working hard to get rid of the Christmas overindulgence, training has started well. We are both hoping to set new personal records for the marathon and the support you give will hopefully give us the extra incentive we need.
