Jack's 100K · 18 August 2020

As the frontline of the NHS in Scotland, we provide an emergency ambulance service to a population of over 5 million people serving all of the nation’s mainland and island communities. Our Charitable Funds support services by enhancing the environment for patients and staff.

Story

The day Jack was born was the Paisley 10K and family fun run. In the back of an ambulance being transferred to the QEUH to join my baby I told mum I was doing it in 2020 to raise money on behalf of our boy. Since then I had recruited some of his family and friends to run the family event with him and some of their yummy mummies were going to do the 10K with me. Unfortunately the events are cancelled and so I have tallied up roughly what we would have run between us in our wee army and I am going to do it myself 🙈

Jack is only here because of the incredible crew from the two ambulances and responder car who attended our house for his birth. Jack only has the quality of life he has because of that crew and the amazing care they gave him and the treatment he received and care he continues to receive both in NICU at the RAH and RHC. We are fortunate that money has been donated to the RHC in Jack's name through my brother-in-law's work so this one is for his besties/uncles at the Scottish Ambulance Service. Previous money raised has been spent on neonatal training and first responder cars.

I am running 100k in a month, starting on the 18th of July and finishing on the 18th of August. I am hoping not to require an ambulance but it's a possibility as lockdown has not been kind! I would appreciate any spare pennies you can give 💚
