I started work for Cancer Focus in 2008 to set up the family service , since then i have worked with many young parents who have died. You receive a call from a family or professional from a family in crisis .I then do my best to help prepare the children and also support the parents. Covering the whole of Northern Ireland, From farm lands to apartments .From every culture and back ground and with that i see the heart break and the devastation that is left when a young much loved parent dies from Cancer. i spend a lot of time with people and get to them very well and then they are gone. Its hard on the heart to watch so much sadness. But what i am taught is that time and love is very precious. In memory of all these wonderful parents and families i am going to trek in the Arctic in 2019 and by doing so raise money for the family service so that we can continue to be there when the world feels like it is falling apart.
