Brighton Marathon 2019 - for Chestnut Tree House

Brighton Marathon 10K 2019 · 14 April 2019 ·
I gave birth to my beautiful daughter Tabitha 18 months ago. I thought If I could handle that, I could probably manage a marathon......so here I am! I will be running the Brighton Marathon on Sunday 14th April 2019. Please feel free to come down and support me!
This is not only a personal challenge for me, but a valuable opportunity to raise money for an incredibly important charity. Chestnut Tree House is where the younger brother of one of my closest friends worked, Sam Brown. Sam did amazing things during his time at Chestnut Tree House and supported many many young people with life-shortening conditions. He sadly passed away last year, but his commitment to Chestnut Tree House was and is inspirational. I therefore wish to dedicate my run to his memory and ask you all to please spare anything you can for Chestnut Tree House.
Chestnut Tree House cares for around 300 children and young people with life-shortening conditions across Sussex and South East Hampshire, as well as around 200 bereaved families. From providing a few hours respite from the round-the-clock responsibilities of caring for a sick child to supporting families through some of their toughest moments. It costs over £3.9 million every year to provide these specialist care services and less than 6% of that comes from central Government. All care is offered to families free of charge, so Chestnut Tree House relies heavily on the generosity of the local community.
On Sunday 14th April 2019, Team Chestnut will also be taking on the challenge of running a 10k on the bustling streets of Brighton. For local families. For crossing the finish line. For the Now.
