Story
I visited Uganda with Teso Development Trust (TDT) in 2016 and again in 2018 and saw water projects, schools, businesses and farms that have all been supported by donations from TDT. See
http://teso.org.uk for more information and also to watch the video on their homepage which I made (not a professional job, but gives a good flavour of the area they work in!)
TDT only work with long-established local Ugandan partners working on the ground to make sure all donations benefit those who need them most, in the most effective way.
A relatively small amount of money donated via TDT (say, £50) can provide free school meals for several months for hundreds of children living in poverty. It could help someone set up a local enterprise, help a mother give birth safely or help bring clean water to rural villages - the variety of work TDT do in Uganda is astounding.
I would love if we could raise enough from this marathon appeal to perhaps fund a new well for clean water, or help refurbish a classroom in a rural area - whatever TDT need most at this time - so please donate if you feel able to do so!
Training myself up to be able to (hopefully) run 26.2 miles on 5th May has been a big undertaking for me. It has seen me running half marathons to work, getting up at 5.15am in the dark in -2 temperatures and nursing various injuries in baths full of ice. So please give a little to hopefully make the pain worth it on Sunday!!
