My friend and colleague Clare passed away in June of 2013 after a short but heroic battle with cancer. She left a gaping hole in the lives of many and is utterly irreplaceable. I'm running Chester Half-Marathon in memory of her and to raise funds to research and stamp out the cruel disease that took her from us. Had she been here, she would have been giving me motivational pep talks, running gear style tips and probably even running it with me. We were both big on planning personal challenges for our 40s.
