Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon 2021 · 21 March 2021 ·
In January 2020 I joined the Royal Marsden, when none of us knew the unprecedented challenges the year would bring for the country, the NHS and my organisation. It has been a privilege to see first hand how teams have risen to these challenges with such compassion, continuing to provide excellent care & treatment safely to thousands of cancer patients amidst the COVID pandemic.
For those who haven't known me very long, I am hardly a lifelong fitness fanatic! I put on a pair of trainers in lockdown and failed to make it passed the 0.5km mark on my first run. Entering a half marathon is probably the last thing I ever thought I'd be doing (and I'm still rather regretting the moment of red wine-fuelled confidence that got me here....) but the last 18 months have been somewhat full of surprises!
I am so proud to work at such a spectacular organisation as The Royal Marsden and in some small way this is my attempt to give back. Wish me (a lot of) luck and thank you for supporting this fantastic cause.
