Waterloo Uncovered 2.6 Challenge

26 Challenge - 26 sketches · 18 May 2020
Waterloo Uncovered combines world-class archaeology with a programme of care and recovery for veterans and serving military personnel suffering from some of the physical and mental impacts of their service. Since 2015 the charity has been excavating on the site of one of the world's most decisive battles - Waterloo in Belgium. In that time, we have supported over 100 beneficiaries and have made important new discoveries about the battle and the men who took part.
I had the privilege of being a participant on Waterloo Uncovered in 2017. The dig was a game changer for me and helped me move forward in my journey and transition to civilian life. Post dig I have been involved with the charity, helping out where I can, fundraising, assisting at Chalke Vally Festival and organising The Black Cabs ride with The Military Charity for Military Veterans which is hosted half way through the annual dig.
Since being signed of sick and subsequent MD I have rediscovered my joy in arts and crafts and aim to draw a mini pencil sketch each day for 26 days, all related to the Battle of Waterloo and Waterloo Uncovered in order to raise funds.
